About Scent Trail

Welcome to Scent Trail.

We are a small company, based in the North West of England, using the finest ingredients to make beautiful soap and scented products.

Scent is powerful. The art of making perfume probably began with the Ancient Egyptians, but was refined by the Arabs and Romans. The oldest perfumery discovered to date was in Cyprus and is believed to be over 4000 years old.  In England, perfume reached its peak during the reign of Elizabeth I who could not tolerate bad smells.

Perfume components have historically been gathered from around the world - Frankincense from the Yemen, Damask Rose from Turkey, Orris from Italy and Neroli from Morocco.  It transports us to exotic climes, and is a bridge between ancient and modern worlds, encompassing faiths and civilisations.

We do not use palm oil in any of our products (see our Problem with Palm Oil page) and we use only plant-based ingredients. Our shea butter is Fair Trade and organic and all our ingredients are of the highest quality. We choose ingredients for the skin loving benefits and carefully blend essential oils to create unique scents, which we hope you will enjoy. 

All our products are suitable for vegetarians, and non of the products or the ingredients have been tested on animals.
